What is the difference among your invitation lines?
Green Line Invitations
With our Green Line invitations, we have taken careful consideration to make every aspect of the invitations as environmentally friendly as possible. All papers are 100% recycled with a minimum of 50% post consumer waste or are comprised of alternative fibers and are chlorine free. Paper waste is kept to a minimum or eliminated all together with innovations like response postcards. Printing methods use environmentally safe inks, and all metal dies are recycled, when used (not all printing processes require the use of metal dies). All embellishments are 100% natural, biodegradable materials and are made in areas with safe and fair labor practices. Coordinating accessories are available for each design, such as save-the-date cards and event programs. Customizable aspects include paper stock, ink color, and printing process. All invitations are printed and hand assembled in the U.S.A.
Select Invitations
Our Select invitation line features a variety of popular formats that are highly customizable to
accommodate many tastes and price levels. Coordinating accessories are available for each design, such
as save-the-date cards and event programs. Customizable aspects include paper stock, ribbon color, and
ink color. Artwork and font selection may be created or customized for a minimal hourly fee. All invitations
are hand assembled.
Elite Invitations
Elite invitations and coordinating pieces are all 100% custom designed for you to reflect your personality
and event theme. Often these invitations are over-the-top in terms of design and elicit a true "wow" response
from recipients. We pride ourselves on a fun, stress-free design process that develops long-lasting
relationships with our clients. Of course, an Elite invitation can be made "green" for environmentally
conscientious clients. All invitations are hand assembled.
Do you offer samples?
To keep costs down for our clients, we do not print many additional samples of our invitations and may not
have a sample of the invitation you are requesting, particularly if you are interested in our Elite invitations. In
some instances, we may be able to send you swatches of the materials used or "mock-up" a sample for you
at a small charge if you would like to get an idea of what the final invitation looks like. We can offer digital
pictures of all of our invitations. Please call us to discuss you specific sample needs.
How much do Invite Design invitations cost?
Because each invitation is customized for each client, pricing for all of our lines can vary. Aspects that affect
pricing are paper stock, printing process, amount of hand assembly required, and amount of custom design
work required. Quantity discounts are given after the first 100 invitations, and package pricing is available for multiple pieces ordered. We offer a free, detailed consultation over the phone or in person to help you
determine the best invitation options for your expectations and budget level. Please contact us for a
consultation and an exact quote.
Green Line Invitations
In general, the Green Line invitations are the most economical because they require the least amount of
hand assembly and customization.
Select Invitations
Select invitations are for clients that desire a high-end invitation with embellishments and fine details but do
not require complete customization. These invitations do require hand assembly, but little to no custom
design, making them a reasonable, mid-priced option.
Elite Invitations
Elite invitations are for discriminating clients who desire a one-of-a-kind invitation. Each design requires 3 to
6 months to develop from concept to assembly. A custom design fee applies and covers custom artwork and
design work for all pieces in your invitation ensemble, including invitations, stationery, programs, or any
other pieces ordered. Materials, printing, and assembly costs are additional and vary depending on the
elements chosen. The Elite invitations showcased in our gallery may be purchased without paying the
custom design fee. Please contact us for exact pricing.
Why don't you present exact pricing on your website?
Because of the number of variations each design can have, it would be a monumental task to list all pricing
for each variation. Instead, we treat each client as an individual. We listen to your expectations about your invitations, including the look you desire, the reaction you want to elicit from your guests, and your budget
level. Then we present you with options that will fulfill your expectations.
How do I place my order?
You can begin your order by filling out our order form on our website or by calling us directly. We will take
your credit card information or check and will send you a contract to sign.
How does the custom design process work?
1. We start with a simple but detailed consultation, either by phone or in person. We try to get a feel for your personality and learn about the details of you event - the location, flowers, colors, and any unique aspects
that can be carried over into the invitation design. This is the time for you to bring your expectations to us,
including any reference such as color swatches or magazine clippings showing items that you would like to incorporate into your invitation design. If we are meeting in person, we will show you our portfolio of work
along with paper and ribbon swatches. Several days after our initial meeting, a price quote is given based on
our discussion.
2. We deliver a contract to you along with a timeline for the project. You return the contract with a deposit.
You present us with wording and any other information we need for the design process. Design work begins
after the contract and deposit are received.
3. We present you with several design options. You now have the opportunity to give feedback and make
changes. We continue the back-and-forth process digitally until the proofs look exactly as you want them to.
The final proof is "mocked up" and mailed to you on the actual materials used for your invitation. You fill out
a form signing off on all aspects of the invitation and return it to us with the remainder of your payment before printing.
4. We send your invitations to the printer for professional printing, and then we assemble them by hand.
When should I order my invitations?
We encourage you to place your order as soon as possible so that we are not rushed through the process.
For general guidelines on when to order, please see our scheduling page.
Do you offer calligraphy?
Yes, we partner with a number of talented handlettering artists to offer calligraphy. To see examples of
calligraphy styles, visit our calligraphy page.
How long after I order will I receive my invitations?
For Green and Select invitations, it takes approximately 8 weeks to finalize the design, print, and assemble
your invitations. For Elite invitations, it takes 3-6 months to complete the process.
Can we work long-distance?
Of course! We have worked with clients all over the nation via email and phone. We have even worked with
local clients this way when they are too busy to meet in person.
Do you have a catalog?
Because our designs are customized and change frequently, we do not offer a catalog. Our complete line
can be seen on our website.
How many invitations should I order?
We generally recommend ordering 25 additional invitations above your final count. It is very costly to
have to reprint if not enough invitations are ordered the first time. Remember that you do not need an
invitation for each guest - couples and families receive one.
What coordinating pieces should I order with my invitations?
We offer any coordinating piece you may need for your event, including save-the-date cards, programs,
place cards, menu cards, and more. For a complete list of coordinating pieces to consider, please see our coordinating items page. Of course, we can design any accessory that you can dream up! To save
costs, it is important to consider all of your accessory needs at the time you order your invitations. Many
times we can offer a lower price quote if several items can be printed at the same time.
What type of payment do you accept?
We accept all major credit cards and checks.
What is your cancellation policy?
If your event is cancelled and we have begun design work, your deposit is not refundable. If we have
ordered paper or other supplies for your invitations that cannot be returned and cost more than your deposit,
you may be billed for those items above your deposit.
What are my printing options?
For a complete description of printing processes, please view our printing processes page.
How do I word my invitation?
Wording varies among cultures and religions and is a very personal decision. We can help determine
wording options that are appropriate for your situation. For a general guide on invitation wording, please
view our wording examples page.
